A little gloss makes your lips look moist, which is good. Too much and you get into stripper territory. As with everything, balance is the key to looking attractive, without looking cheap.

Are lined lips out of style? That's like asking if eyeshadow is out of style! It's a piece of makeup. It can't go out of style. The problem is that people don't know how to line their lips and so they look HORRIBLE and ridiculous when they try. The trick is (just like with almost every other piece of makeup!) to make it look like you have none on and that your lips are just naturally full. Like that man up there said,

For a casual night out I like a tinted gloss but for a special occasion out at night I would go for a nice shiny lipstick that will last through out the evening without having to reapply like you have to do with gloss. i usually put a lipstick and then lipgloss on top- if ur going to a party this looks really glam- and lipgloss comes off fairly easily so if you apply ur lipstick with a brush- at least you keep the colour on your lips for longer.

I would recommend trying estee lauder high gloss lip gloss it's awesome...the price is expensive but
it keeps you lips smooth, soft and glossy without being sticky

I've used lip gloss/sticks in alll types of brands even high end department stores, and ALba is great!! THen i felt better about wearing it, when I found out it was organic and animal friendly (I was shocked to hear the horrible abuse that happens to animals for cosmetic testing, so sad)

It will also look more natural but still have that WOW factor. if lip stain is a bit scary go to a beauty counter in the likes of debenhams and they can help you as different reds will suit your skin tone and they will help you find one that makes you look sexy rather than trampy!!! Either way go for it you will look great and remeber to keep the rest of your make up neutral and make those lips the focal point !!

Poof! Bee-stung, bright red lips that won't fade to nonexistance for at least 6 hours! (if done correctly, heh)

A little gloss makes your lips look moist, which is good. Too much and you get into stripper territory. As with everything, balance is the key to looking attractive, without looking cheap.

The problem is that people don't know how to line their lips and so they look HORRIBLE and ridiculous when they try. The trick is (just like with almost every other piece of makeup!) to make it look like you have none on and that your lips are just naturally full. Like that man up there said,

I hate Lip Injection from too faced it hurts when I apply it really badly and it feels awful on the lips (sticky like spilled dried fruit juice) My favorite is defiantly Buxom from the Bare Escentauls make up line. Their colors are varied and all very nice it makes your lips plumper and instead of burning give your lips a really nice minty tingle.

Has anyone tried the new trend of wearing black, brown, or dark red lip color? I think it looks incredibly silly. All these makeup stores are saying it looks great on any skin color. Differences between Lipstick, lip gloss, lip color?
I'm in my early 20's and have been wearing makeup to go to work for a little over a year now. I usually wear lip gloss or lip shine (as I work the regular 9-5 and my workplace is not exceptionally formal or business-like). I'm certainly no expert on makeup and prefer a subtle, natural look.
I was under the impression lipstick tends to be for older women/night wear and is usually too much for the day unless your work is exceptionally business-like (High powered law firm or business corporation...)
Am I wrong? Can the different lip colors/pencils/shines be broken down into categories/age groups?Differences between Lipstick, lip gloss, lip color?

i'm going to a gig next week at a club, and i rather like one of the guys in the band who's my mate, so i need to look good on the night!
i'm planning on doing my eyes smokey (white / grey on the inside, blending out to a charcoal colour) and i need a lipstick or gloss to go with it. any ideas?
also... how do you think i should do my hair?

Perhaps you should outline your lips with a light pink lip liner before applying the gloss...lipstick wouldnt work b/c it would give your lips a more matte look as opposed to glossy.

Always use a lip pencil. It prevents your lipstick from bleeding. Also, you can even up any imperfections in your lip line. I think a darker mauve would look great. After you put on your lipstick, set it by placing a tissue over your lips, and then brushing loose powder over top. Then apply lip gloss. Your lips will look very sexy and very kissable!!!

A beautiful pink lipgloss that is pale and sheer would be pretty. Try going to ULTA ask on of their makeup ladies to suggest something! Good Luck!
With your skin tone, you could go for a deeper maroon color with just a shiny gloss for a more dramatic look. Use a pencil only if you need to define your lip line, or if you have problems w/ your color bleeding!

Can't find good lipstick/gloss?
So I'm really looking for light-colored lipstick or lipgloss that really turns my lips light pink....usually i buy one and it's really sheer, so my lips are still reddish. is there anythinig out there that is like, max coverage? i tend to put some sort of concealer/skin-color foundation on with lip gloss, and that works but it doesn't stay on long.....Can't find good lipstick/gloss?

So I'm really looking for light-colored lipstick or lipgloss that really turns my lips light pink....usually i buy one and it's really sheer, so my lips are still reddish. is there anythinig out there that is like, max coverage? i tend to put some sort of concealer/skin-color foundation on with lip gloss, and that works but it doesn't stay on long.....Can't find good lipstick/gloss?

Always use a lip pencil. It prevents your lipstick from bleeding. Also, you can even up any imperfections in your lip line. I think a darker mauve would look great. After you put on your lipstick, set it by placing a tissue over your lips, and then brushing loose powder over top. Then apply lip gloss. Your lips will look very sexy and very kissable!!!

With your skin tone, you could go for a deeper maroon color with just a shiny gloss for a more dramatic look. Use a pencil only if you need to define your lip line, or if you have problems w/ your color bleeding!

here is a tip though for lip liner:
never use an liner that is different then the color of your lipstick
and for lipstick you should do red and because of your skin tone you can use any red however i recomend a burgubdy or warm red
when wearing red lipstick its a good idea to place a little foundation outside of lip and place liner the same color as your lips then place red lipstick red lipstick tends to run off your face good luck!!!!!!!!

Always use a lip pencil. It prevents your lipstick from bleeding. Also, you can even up any imperfections in your lip line. I think a darker mauve would look great. After you put on your lipstick, set it by placing a tissue over your lips, and then brushing loose powder over top. Then apply lip gloss. Your lips will look very sexy and very kissable!!!

A beautiful pink lipgloss that is pale and sheer would be pretty. Try going to ULTA ask on of their makeup ladies to suggest something! Good Luck!
With your skin tone, you could go for a deeper maroon color with just a shiny gloss for a more dramatic look. Use a pencil only if you need to define your lip line, or if you have problems w/ your color bleeding!
it all depends on what your wearing, but if your really confused just go simple, something sheer colored with a dab of gloss for shine. good luck have fun

Red lipstick/gloss??
Whats a good red lipstick or gloss that doesen't smear and run, or somthing i can put on my lips[Like chapstick or somthing] that will keep it from smearing and running? I live in the heat and it alawys starts to run, smear, and get all gross after about 5 minutes of being outside. =[Red lipstick/gloss??
